Position Summary
The Tire Man is one of Atlantic Canada's largest online tire retailers, serving customers throughout Atlantic Canada through e-commerce, phone, commercial, and retail sales channels.
We are seeking an experienced, organized, and hands-on Assistant General Manager to support the General Manager and lead the day-to-day operational activities of the business.
The Assistant General Manager is responsible for warehouse operations, inventory management, fulfillment processes, receiving activities, operational efficiency, and team leadership. This position serves as the operational leader of the organization and ensures that inventory, warehouse, and customer fulfillment activities are executed safely, accurately, and efficiently.
The Assistant General Manager works closely with the General Manager to implement company objectives, improve operational performance, and support continued business growth.
This role is expected to be highly visible within the operation and maintain a regular presence in both warehouse and customer service environments.
Primary Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations Leadership
- Oversee all warehouse operations and daily workflow.
- Ensure efficient receiving, storage, picking, and shipping activities.
- Monitor warehouse productivity and service levels.
- Support seasonal inventory transitions and warehouse planning.
- Maintain inventory organization and operational standards.
- Ensure warehouse activities support customer service and sales objectives.
Inventory Management
- Maintain high standards of inventory accuracy.
- Oversee cycle count and inventory audit programs.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor inventory location accuracy and warehouse discipline.
- Support inventory planning and replenishment activities.
- Assist with overflow storage and container utilization planning.
Fulfillment & Customer Order Execution
- Oversee order fulfillment operations.
- Ensure customer orders are processed accurately and on time.
- Coordinate warehouse and customer service teams to support service standards.
- Monitor order flow and identify operational bottlenecks.
- Improve fulfillment efficiency and accuracy.
Receiving & Logistics Coordination
- Oversee receiving operations and inventory put-away processes.
- Ensure incoming inventory is accurately received and recorded.
- Coordinate inventory transfers between locations.
- Support transportation and logistics planning.
- Work with purchasing and logistics resources to improve inventory flow.
Team Leadership
Provide leadership and support for:
- Warehouse Supervisor
- Warehouse Staff
- Customer Service Representatives

Physical & Working Requirements
This is an operational leadership position with regular involvement in warehouse activities.
The successful candidate must be able to:
- Regularly work within warehouse and storage environments.
- Participate in receiving, inventory, and warehouse projects as required.
- Lift, carry, move, and handle passenger, SUV, and light truck tires when operational needs require.
- Safely handle tires that typically weigh between 20 and 40 lbs, with occasional heavier tires and wheel assemblies.
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Obtain and maintain forklift certification if required.
Qualifications
Required
- 5+ years of experience in warehouse, logistics, inventory management, operations, distribution, or related fields.
- Previous supervisory or management experience.
- Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing people and operational processes.
- Experience working with inventory management systems or ERP software.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred
- Experience in tire, automotive, wholesale distribution, logistics, or industrial supply industries.
- Experience managing warehouse and customer service operations.
- Experience developing operational KPIs and reporting systems.

Compensation
Salary Range: $70,000 - $85000 annually including bonus
