The role: Maintenance Mechanic (Afternoon Shift)
Location: Mississauga, Ontario
Employment Type: Full Time
Shift Schedule: Initial training period on day shift moving to afternoon shift upon completion with regular overtime exceeding 50 hours per week (A must)

Duties
- Conduct routine inspections of machinery, equipment, and systems to identify potential issues before they escalate.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks such as lubrication, adjustments, and part replacements to extend equipment lifespan.
- Troubleshoot mechanical failures using diagnostic tools and techniques, then execute repairs swiftly to minimize downtime.
- Repair or replace faulty components including belts, gears, motors, pumps, and hydraulic systems with precision.
- Maintain detailed maintenance logs and documentation for all work performed to ensure compliance and facilitate future troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with production teams to coordinate maintenance schedules that align with operational needs.
- Follow safety protocols diligently during all maintenance activities to uphold a safe working environment.
Experience
- PLC/Valid industrial mechanic millwright license or equivalent combination of professional experience and technical certification.
- Proven hands on experience maintaining and repairing high speed manufacturing equipment preferably within the food beverage or pharmaceutical processing industries.
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Mechanic or similar role in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems including hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyor systems, and basic electrical principles.
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints accurately.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and safety gear effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying root causes of mechanical issues.
- Prior experience performing preventive maintenance and repairs on complex machinery is highly desirable.
- Certifications such as OSHA safety training or relevant technical certifications are a plus.
