Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Architectural Technologist & Permit Manager to join our innovative team. Duties
- Prepare detailed architectural drawings and schematics using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, and Civil 3D to support project design and construction documentation.
- Manage the permit application process by coordinating with municipal authorities, consultant, preparing submission packages, and ensuring all documentation complies with local building codes and zoning regulations.
- Review blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to verify accuracy and adherence to project specifications.
- Collaborate with project teams, clients, and consultants to facilitate smooth communication and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Utilize software tools like Bluebeam, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office suite for project planning, presentation development, and document management.
- Conduct site inspections and review construction progress to ensure compliance with approved plans and permits.
- Lead efforts in organizing project timelines, tracking permit statuses, and maintaining detailed records of all permit-related correspondence and documentation.
Skills
- Proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, Civil 3D, NavisWorks, SketchUp, and Schematics tools.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, zoning laws, blueprint reading, and schematic development for residential and commercial projects.
- Excellent communication skills in English; bilingual abilities in French are a plus for diverse client engagement.
- Demonstrated project management skills with experience using Microsoft Project and organizational tools to meet deadlines effectively.
- Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; familiarity with Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator; Bluebeam; Adobe Creative Suite; MicroStation; NavisWorks; Civil 3D; CAD drafting techniques.
- Solid understanding of construction processes across residential and commercial sectors; manufacturing experience is advantageous.
- Analytical thinking skills combined with attention to detail for accurate plan review and problem-solving during project execution.
- Strong leadership qualities paired with excellent customer service orientation; capable of managing multiple priorities efficiently.
- Time management expertise coupled with organizational skills to oversee permit submissions from start to finish while maintaining high-quality standards.
