Staff Plus is hiring a full-time General Labourer -Truss Builder for an afternoon-shift opportunity in Smithville, Ontario.
As a Wood Truss Assembler, you will build roof and floor trusses from production drawings, measure and cut lumber, and use saws, nail guns, hammers, measuring tapes and other hand and power tools.
Work a consistent Monday-to-Thursday schedule from 3:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., with Fridays off. This position is well suited to candidates with experience in construction, manufacturing, assembly, woodworking, saw operation, lumber handling or other physically active production roles.

Pay Rate: $17.60 to $19.50 per hour
Hours: 3:00pm to 1:00am (Monday to Thursday)
What You'll Do:
- Assemble roof and floor trusses according to production drawings.
- Measure and cut lumber as required for production.
- Use nail guns, hammers, saws, measuring tapes and other hand and power tools.
- Inspect lumber and materials for damage, defects and quality concerns.
- Check finished products to ensure they meet company quality standards.
- Move, stack and organize lumber, materials and completed products.
- Complete basic equipment inspections and report maintenance concerns.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.
- Complete other production duties as assigned.
What You Bring:
- Experience in construction, assembly, saw operation, lumber handling or a similar hands-on role is an asset.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic math and measuring skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Commitment to workplace safety and product quality.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 66 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Comfortable with frequent lifting and physical work throughout the shift.
- Willing and able to work in varying weather conditions.
- Legally eligible to work in Canada and available for the full-time schedule.
