Responsibilities:
- Schedule management, book and confirm patient appointments
- Fax triaging and maintaining/reporting wait times including patient volume
- Chart preparation with correct demographics and information required for physician to conduct appointments
- Answer phone calls, respond to e-mails and communicate in a timely and accurate manner
- Able to maintain and organize physician's schedule including ability to accommodate to on-call schedule, wait-list and no-show management
- Greet patients and provide excellent customer service
- Maintain accurate medical records and update patient information
- Coordinate patient referrals and communicate with other healthcare providers
- Ensure compliance with healthcare, hospital regulations and clinic policies
- Excellent problem solving and communication skills
Required skills and experience:
- Medical office experience required
- Cardiology practice experience is an asset
- Demonstrated high quality, compassionate, customer-centred experience
- Proven ability to work proficiently and independently in a busy fast paced environment
- Ability to establish priorities and achieve objectives with minimal supervision
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Superior telephone etiquette
- Strong understanding of medical terminology
- Proficiency in technology including MS Office
- EMR systems experience
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to deal with sensitive information with a high degree of privacy and diplomacy
- Fluency in Farsi language an asset
- Experience in Accuro EMR an asset
