Community Inclusion Support Worker (2:1 Support)
We are looking for compassionate, reliable, and experienced Community Inclusion Support Workers to join our team and provide 2:1 support for an individual with complex behavioural support needs. This position focuses on promoting community participation, personal growth, independence, and meaningful engagement while ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
EXPERIENCE SUPPORTING INDIVIDUALS WITH COMPLEX BEHAVIOURAL NEEDS IS REQUIRED.
Position Details
- Community Inclusion (CI) Program
- 2:1 staffing model
- 12–14 hours per week
- Wage: $26.00–$30.00 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct 2:1 support in community settings, recreational activities, and skill-building opportunities.
- Support participation in meaningful, person-centred activities based on the individual's interests and goals.
- Implement positive behaviour support strategies and follow established support plans.
- Assist with the development of life skills, social skills, communication, and community inclusion.
- Promote independence, self-confidence, and personal choice while ensuring safety.
- Administer medications as required and document accordingly.
- Monitor, document, and report behavioural, health, and safety concerns.
- Maintain professional communication with family members, behavioural consultants, and team members.
- Complete daily reports, progress notes, incident reports, and other required documentation.
- Participate in team meetings, training, and ongoing collaboration with the support team.
Skills & Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, ADHD, and/or complex behavioural needs.
- Demonstrated experience implementing behaviour support strategies and working within positive behaviour support frameworks.
- Training in epilepsy awareness and seizure response is required.
- MANDT, NVCI, or equivalent behavioural intervention certification is required.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
- Clear Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Screening.
- Strong communication, documentation, observation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a 2:1 support team.
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and responsive in challenging situations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Behaviour Interventionist, Behaviour Technician, RBT, or related behavioural support experience.
- Experience supporting individuals with dual diagnoses and complex support needs.
- Familiarity with community-based supports.
