Overview
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic / 5th Man to join our team. This role involves maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a variety of heavy machinery and industrial equipment to ensure optimal operation and safety. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical knowledge, experience with heavy equipment, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. This position offers an excellent opportunity for those with dealership experience or expertise in automotive repair, welding, electrical systems, and maintenance of large machinery. Also willing to perform other duties as well aside from just mechanical work.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, schematics, and welding equipment to complete repairs efficiently
- Conduct electrical troubleshooting and repairs on industrial equipment and HVAC systems
- Operate heavy machinery safely during maintenance procedures when necessary
- Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams for complex machinery repair
- Assist in assembly and disassembly of mechanical components for repair or replacement
- Maintain detailed records of work performed and parts used
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed during maintenance activities
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repairs and maintenance needs
Requirements
- Proven mechanic experience with heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, or farm machinery
- Dealership experience is highly preferred
- Strong mechanical knowledge across automotive repair, electrical systems, welding, and HVAC systems
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, schematics, and welding equipment proficiently
- Experience with industrial equipment maintenance and assembly processes
- Capable of heavy lifting and operating heavy machinery safely when required
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong customer service skills with clear communication abilities
- Valid certifications related to heavy equipment operation or repair are a plus
Pay: $23.56-$35.00 per hour
