Position Overview
Based out of our High River Headquarters, the Sales Manager is a pivotal leadership role responsible for the financial success and operational excellence of our HQ sales floor and HQ inside sales team. You will be the driving force behind our daily sales strategy, tasked with maximizing the potential of our sales team, driving revenue, and maintaining our competitive edge in a dynamic market.
This is not a behind-the-scenes administrative role; it is an active, on-the-floor leadership position. You will lead by example—desking deals, coaching representatives in real-time, structuring finance solutions, and ensuring every customer receives the utmost care.
Core Responsibilities
1. Team Leadership & Development
- Coach and Mentor: Actively manage, train, and motivate a diverse team of Sales Professionals, fostering a high-performance culture focused on continuous growth. Executing 1 on 1 coaching and development sessions monthly with team.
- Talent Management: Oversee the onboarding and retention of top-performing sales staff locally. Be a mentor and coach to remote branch managers across Canada. Identify areas for improvement and implement personalized development plans.
- Performance Tracking: Establish clear, measurable sales targets for the team including short term incentives. Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly performance, holding the team accountable to their goals.
2. Sales Operations & Strategy
- Deal Execution (Desking): Roll up your sleeves to actively manage the sales desk. Assist sales associates in structuring deals, negotiating terms, and closing complex transactions. Manage daily follow-ups and dropped opportunities.
- Strategic Planning: Develop competitive sales plans and manage budgets and sales lead inventory management directives with procurement to successfully guide the team to meet and exceed ambitious company growth targets. Meet with each team member 1 on 1 monthly
- Issue Resolution: Act as the point of escalation for customer concerns on the floor, resolving issues swiftly and professionally.
- Optimize Operations: Oversee daily sales operations, manage staffing levels, and continually refine sales processes to maximize efficiency and market impact.
3. Customer Experience & Relationship Management
- Champion the Customer: Monitor store satisfaction rates to ensure the highest level of service before, during, and after the sale.
- Relationship Building: Establish and maintain strong, authentic, and long-lasting relationships with clients, vendor partners, and your internal staff.
- F&I Integration: Identify and present creative sales and financing solutions. Work seamlessly to secure approvals and optimize the finance process for the customer.
Qualifications & Skills
Experience & Background:
- Proven Leadership: A strong track record in sales management, team leadership, or equivalent capacities, with a talent for motivating staff and driving results.
- Industry Knowledge: Previous experience in the Automotive, Powersports, RV, or Trailer industry is highly preferred.
- Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of dealership finance and insurance (F&I) processes, navigating financing options, and structuring deals.
