Position Overview
We are seeking a Microbiologist – Laboratory Technician with experience working in Biosafety Level 2 (BSL-2) laboratories to support the development and testing of the new antimicrobial agents and research for our sister companies. The successful candidate will work with microorganisms commonly found in wounds, performing microbiological and chemical analyses, and presenting research findings.
This position requires strong microbiology lab skills, aseptic technique, and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform microbial and Biofilm analyses on different bacteria including handling pathogenic microorganisms (BSL-2 level).
- Work with wound-associated microorganisms to assess the antimicrobial effects of new technologies.
- Maintain strict aseptic techniques and adhere to biosafety regulations while conducting experiments.
- Prepare media, reagents, and solutions for microbiological testing.
- Conduct data analysis, interpret results, and present findings to the research team.
- Assist in pilot-scale AOS operations and support field deployment as required.
- Perform routine laboratory maintenance, calibration, and quality control procedures.
Qualifications & Skills
- BSc or MSc in Microbiology, Environmental Science, Biotechnology, or a related field.
- Strong Aseptic Technique – Ability to work with microbial cultures without contamination, ensuring sample integrity.
- Hands on experience in Biosafety Level 2 (BSL-2) Handling – Knowledge of safety protocols when working with pathogenic microorganisms.
- Media & Solution Preparation – Preparing culture media, reagents, and buffers for microbiological and chemical analyses.
- Microbiological Culturing – Experience with streaking, plating, and growing bacteria and fungi.
- Working with bacterial Biofilms, and developing assays to monitor BioFilms
- Experience in data analysis, scientific report writing, and presenting research findings.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of accuracy and quality.
- Familiarity with analytical equipment (e.g., spectrophotometers, pH meters, microbial plating techniques).
- Experience in pilot-scale operations or fieldwork is an advantage but not required.
