JOB SUMMARY: The Awake Night Worker works in NOYFSS’s Specialized Homes and Support Services program. The worker monitors and attends to the well-being and safety of children (age 6-17) residing in our care. Many of these children may have experienced extreme trauma and/or display a variety of behaviors, which may include aggression and escalations. Additionally, the successful applicant will be required to do housekeeping, laundry, sanitization and some food preparation as required.
HOURS OF WORK/SHIFT:
Friday and Saturday from 11pm to 7am for a total of 16 hours per week. You will also have the ability to pick up casual shifts to provide coverage for staff on vacation or away due to illness / leave of absence.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
- Must be at least 19 years of age
- Minimum requirement of Grade 12 and 6 months of recent, directly-related child and/or youth experience
- Must be able to provide at least 3 references who can speak to your suitability to work with vulnerable children and youth

- Successful completion of Mandt certification (in-house training)
- First Aid w/CPR component
- Food Safe / Food Handler
- WHMIS
