Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Worker (PSW) to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals in need. The PSW will support clients with daily living activities, promote independence, and ensure their safety and well-being in various settings such as assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or private homes. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Provide medication administration as prescribed and monitor health status
- Support clients with meal preparation, feeding, and nutritional needs
- Help with light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning and maintaining a safe environment
- Offer companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a respectful and caring relationship
- Assist with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety during movement
- Observe and report any changes in health or behavior to healthcare professionals or family members
- Follow care plans accurately and document care provided in compliance with regulations
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home care environments is preferred
- Experience working with seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those requiring dementia care is highly desirable
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols and caregiving best practices is advantageous
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and compassionately
- Experience performing light cleaning and meal preparation is beneficial but not required
- Certification as a Personal Support Worker (PSW) or similar credential is preferred but not mandatory; relevant training will be provided for qualified candidates
