Auto Body Mechanic / Installer /Warehouse Assistant

About the Position
We are looking for a reliable, hands-on Auto Body Mechanic / Installer & Warehouse Assistant to join our team in Langley.
This is a hands-on position for someone with experience working on vehicles who is comfortable with auto body work, vehicle accessories, basic automotive electrical work, installation, and warehouse operations.
The successful candidate will install truck canopies, covers, and accessories while also performing basic vehicle electrical work such as brake lights, aftermarket LED lighting, wiring, connectors, and other accessory installations.
You should be comfortable using hand and power tools, working around vehicles, troubleshooting basic installation issues, and keeping the shop and warehouse organized.
Key ResponsibilitiesVehicle & Accessory Installation
- Assemble and install truck canopies, truck covers, and related accessories.
- Perform installations using hand tools and power tools.
- Install truck accessories and aftermarket equipment.
- Perform basic vehicle modifications and accessory installations.
- Perform basic automotive electrical work, including:
- Brake lights
- Aftermarket LED lights
- Wiring and connectors
- 12V accessory connections
- Lighting and electrical troubleshooting
- Follow installation instructions and ensure products are properly fitted, secure, and finished.
- Inspect completed installations for quality and functionality.
- Identify and report installation or product issues.
Auto Body / Mechanical Skills
- Use basic auto body and mechanical skills to complete installations.
- Remove and reinstall vehicle components when required for accessory installation.
- Drill, measure, cut, fasten, and modify materials when necessary.
- Understand basic vehicle structures and how aftermarket accessories interact with the vehicle.
- Perform basic troubleshooting when an installation does not fit or function correctly.
- Experience with truck beds, pickup trucks, body panels, trim, wiring, or aftermarket accessories is a strong asset.
Warehouse & Shop Operations
- Receive and organize incoming inventory.
- Pick and prepare orders for customers and shipments.
- Maintain organized inventory and storage areas.
- Sweep and clean the shop and warehouse daily.
- Keep tools and equipment organized.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.
- Assist with loading and unloading products when required.
Product Improvement
- Provide practical feedback on installation procedures and product design.
- Identify recurring installation problems and suggest improvements.
- Help the team improve assembly instructions, installation methods, and product quality.
Customer Service & Upselling
The successful candidate will also have opportunities to upsell additional products and services during installations.
Examples may include:
- Additional truck accessories
- Cross bars
- Side windows
- Tool boxes
- C-clamps
- Short antennas
- Lighting and LED products
- Extended warranties
- Other IronHaul products and services
Additional compensation/commission will be available for qualifying upsells and sales.
QualificationsRequired
- Experience working on vehicles, preferably in an auto body, automotive, mechanical, or accessory installation environment.
- Strong hands-on mechanical ability.
- Comfortable using basic hand and power tools.
- Ability to understand measurements, installation instructions, and basic mechanical concepts.
- Ability to perform basic automotive electrical work.
- Ability to work safely around vehicles and shop equipment.
- Ability to lift and move heavy packages and truck accessories.
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking.
- Basic English communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
Preferred / Huge Plus
- Auto body technician experience.
- Automotive mechanic experience.
- Experience installing truck canopies, tonneau covers, truck accessories, or aftermarket products.
- Experience with 12V automotive electrical systems.
- Experience installing brake lights and aftermarket LED lighting.
- Experience with wiring, connectors, switches, and troubleshooting.
- Experience modifying or accessorizing pickup trucks.
- Experience with drilling, cutting, fastening, and fitting vehicle components.
- Class 5 driver's licence and a clean driving record is an asset.

Compensation
Competitive hourly wage based on experience.
Additional compensation may be available for qualifying upsells and accessory/service sales.
