Position: Director of Finance
Role Purpose
The Director of Finance will lead the finance, accounting, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and financial systems functions for the company
This role is responsible for producing accurate financial information, improving financial controls, supporting executive decision-making, managing cash flow, and ensuring the finance function supports operational performance across hotel and hospitality operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the full finance and accounting function, including month-end close, year-end close, reconciliations, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, payroll support, tax coordination, and financial analysis.
- Prepare accurate monthly financial statements, management reports, KPI dashboards, cash flow forecasts, and executive commentary.
- Partner with hotel leadership to evaluate property performance, labour costs, occupancy trends, food and beverage margins, operating costs, and capital spending.
- Build financial models to support pricing, expansion, acquisitions, renovations, financing, and long-term business planning.
- Strengthen internal controls to control frauds, approval processes, reporting standards, and financial policies across the organization.
- Manage relationships with banks, lenders, insurers, tax advisors, legal advisors, external accountants, vendors, and other financial partners.
- Oversee cash management, liquidity planning, debt obligations, financing requirements, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Lead financial planning for capital projects, property improvements, system upgrades, and operational efficiency initiatives.
- Improve financial systems, reporting tools and data workflows to increase accuracy and reduce manual work.
- Support tax compliance, corporate reporting, regulatory filings, and financial governance requirements.
- Lead, mentor, and develop accounting and finance team members.
- Work closely with operations, procurement, HR, payroll, IT, and executive leadership to align financial processes with business needs.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities, process improvements, and reporting gaps that affect profitability.
- Provide clear financial advice to senior leadership using accurate data, business context, and practical recommendations.
Required Qualifications
- CPA designation required.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field.
- MBA, CMA, CGMA, or equivalent senior finance credential considered an asset.
- 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience.
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing accounting or finance teams.
- Experience in hospitality, hotels, restaurants, real estate, construction, retail, or multi-location operations strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, financial reporting, tax coordination, and internal controls.
- Experience working with accounting platforms, payroll systems, Excel models, and reporting dashboards.
- Experience supporting executive leadership, ownership groups, boards, lenders, or external advisors.

- Experience improving finance departments through process redesign, system implementation, and stronger reporting practices.
Compensation
Competitive compensation based on experience, qualifications, and scope of responsibility.
Pay: From $90,000.00 per year
