Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Inventory Control Specialist to oversee and optimize inventory processes within our warehouse and supply chain operations. The ideal candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate stock levels, coordinating procurement activities, and ensuring seamless order fulfillment. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to process improvements and enhance overall warehouse efficiency through effective materials management and data analysis. Experience with warehouse management systems, ERP platforms, and supply chain logistics is highly valued.
Duties
- Monitor and manage inventory levels using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP systems, and AS400 platforms.
- Conduct regular cycle counts, audits, and reconciliations to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Coordinate with procurement teams for sourcing, purchasing, and demand planning to meet operational needs.
- Oversee shipping & receiving processes, including order picking, packaging, freight coordination, and logistics management with 3PL providers.
- Utilize transportation management systems to optimize freight routes and reduce costs.
- Implement process improvements for inventory workflows, including materials management and order fulfillment procedures.
- Maintain detailed records of inventory transactions, pricing adjustments, and sourcing activities.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts safely and efficiently when necessary.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on procurement strategies, sourcing initiatives, and supply chain optimization efforts.
- Support e-commerce order processing and ensure timely delivery through effective inventory control practices.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in warehouse distribution, materials management, or supply chain roles.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems (including AS400), and process improvement methodologies.
- Familiarity with procurement processes, sourcing strategies, demand planning, freight logistics, and shipping & receiving operations.
- Data analysis skills to interpret inventory data for decision-making purposes.
- Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) is a plus.
- Ability to operate forklifts safely; relevant certifications preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining accurate records.
- Strong communication skills for coordinating with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Warehouse experience including order picking, packaging, and transportation management is highly desirable. This role is integral to maintaining efficient warehouse operations and ensuring the integrity of our supply chain processes through meticulous inventory control practices.
Pay: $22.00-$24.00 per hour
