About the Role
We’re hiring a Manager for our Applied Intelligence team to serve as a core builder and strategic storyteller as we scale our marketing science capabilities. This position is crafted for a versatile data professional who possesses deep fluency in marketing analytics, statistical modelling, and performance measurement.
This is an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment where you will have a direct hand in shaping how we extract and apply data. Because we prioritize custom solutions over rigid, off-the-shelf templates, we need a practitioner who truly "knows their stuff." We are looking for an analytical expert who can collaborate effectively across teams, provide sound data guidance to internal partners, and ruthlessly execute on immediate business needs.
You won't be siloed into a single box. You will be the end-to-end owner of the effectiveness story for your clients—gathering data in highly creative ways, analyzing complex datasets, and translating those numbers into compelling narratives that prove the business value of our creative work.
Responsibilities
- Own the Effectiveness Story: Act as the ultimate anchor for campaign measurement. You will synthesize data across earned, owned, and paid channels to build cohesive, bulletproof narratives that prove how our work drives real business impact for global brands.
- Bespoke Measurement & Framework Development: Enjoy the freedom to architect custom measurement models and frameworks tailored specifically to unique client objectives. You will build and execute the methodology required to solve complex brand questions—whether that means measuring the long-term reputation impact of a major brand announcement, or conducting multiple regression analysis and building forecasting models to project business-critical KPIs like sales and web traffic.
- Agile Data Analysis & Gathering: Act as a resourceful data wrangler. You will analyze and transform data on a case-by-case basis using data sourced directly from clients, native platform UIs, or internal applications. When standard tools hit a wall, you will comfortably leverage Python for ad-hoc data collection, API integration, or web scraping.
- Data Storytelling & Deliverables: Own the final client output from start to finish. Whether a client requires an interactive dashboard (Looker Studio, Tableau) or a highly tailored, visually compelling strategic deck, you will craft the final deliverable.
Requirements
- 4–6 years of experience within a media agency, digital analytics firm, or research house, with a definitive track record of owning client-facing measurement and analytics outputs.
- BSc in statistics, economics, finance or related degree; Masters degree is a plus.
- Strong, practical experience utilizing Python for data science workflows—specifically for data manipulation (Pandas/NumPy), data transformation, and ad-hoc data collection—alongside comfort experimenting with modern AI tools to optimize workflows.
- Demonstrated competence in executing multiple regression analysis, data modeling, and building statistical forecasting models to evaluate and project campaign impact.
- Hands-on experience navigating paid media platform UIs, digital marketing tracking environments, and social listening tools (e.g., Brandwatch, NetBase, or similar).
- A rare blend of analytical confidence and team-first agility. You can clearly articulate how to solve a complex data problem, but you are equally energized by rolling up your sleeves to build dashboards, manipulate datasets, and pull data yourself.
Why This Role at Citizen Relations Canada
- A Blank Canvas for Growth: You won't be stuck executing standard reporting templates that someone else built years ago. You will directly influence how we build our data workflows and help shape the agency's analytics road map.
- End-to-End Ownership: You own the narrative. From the initial creative data collection to the final client presentation, you will see the direct impact of your data stories on major global consumer brands.
- No Analytics Theater: We aren't interested in pulling vanity metrics just to fill slides. This role is about extracting true human behavioural insights and engineering measurement frameworks that drive genuine business value.
- High-Visibility Collaboration: You will work side-by-side with an integrated agency team, serving as a vital driver of what Applied Intelligence looks like at a world-class communications agency.
