Overview
A valued TELUS client is seeking a Junior BI Analyst to play a key role in helping the organization turn data into meaningful insights that support smarter, faster decision‑making. In this role, you’ll work with modern data tools—including SQL Server, Power BI, Azure Synapse, and Microsoft Fabric—to analyze data, build reports, and support enterprise‑wide BI initiatives. You’ll collaborate with experienced team members who will help you grow your technical skills, deepen your understanding of data platforms, and build a strong foundation for a long‑term career in analytics. Responsibilities
- Query, analyze, and validate data within SQL Server Data Warehouse environments to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Develop and maintain SSRS reports and Power BI dashboards using visualization best practices.
- Support data profiling, cleansing, transformation, and the development of SQL queries, stored procedures, and views.
- Assist with data ingestion and integration across Data Lake and modern cloud platforms such as Azure Synapse, Databricks, and Microsoft Fabric.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, provide insights, and deliver ad‑hoc analysis.
- Document data definitions, report logic, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in reporting automation and BI processes.
Qualifications
- Strong SQL skills (T‑SQL preferred) with experience working in SQL Server and Data Warehouse environments.
- Exposure to SSRS, Power BI, and basic data modeling concepts (ETL/ELT, Data Lakes).
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field—or equivalent practical experience.
- 2-5 years of experience in analytics, reporting, or related technical roles.
- Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, communication skills, and a willingness to learn new tools and technologies.
This is a contract role. Successful candidate will be paid by the hour.
Start Date: Immediately
Duration: 12 months – likely to extend or become permanent full time.
