Blackbird Security Inc. is currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated District Manager to join our operations team in Vancouver, BC
Role Summary:
This is a critical and pivotal role in our development as a company, one that requires operational knowledge, experience, commitment to our purpose, and loyalty, amongst other attributes.
Your primary responsibility, through the Regional Manager, will be to fully support the Director of Operations in his role as it pertains to the cost-effective management of all operational facets associated with the Lower Mainland. In terms of operational accountability, this means the following:
- Supporting the Regional Manager with the selection, development, management, and leadership of the selected supervisory staff. All Supervisors within your district will directly report to you. You will be required to provide them with adequate training, daily itineraries, and to hold them accountable to deadlines and job expectations including but not limited to shift recaps.
- Completing weekly schedules for all sites within your assigned District.
- Filling shifts on short notice due to staff cancellations and/or ad-hoc client requests.
- Coordinating and liaising with the Training Department ensuring all newly onboarded frontline staffed are scheduled for the required training hours prior to site-specific deployment
- Working closely with the Training Department to develop and maintain site-specific post orders for each site within your district.
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with our clients
- Supporting the Regional Manager with the managing and controlling of company-owned site required equipment in your district.
- You will be responsible for the hiring and onboarding of new frontline staff in your district in coordination with the Regional Manager and Talent Acquisition team.
- Reviewing incident reports from sites in your district to ensure full compliance and transparency into our work on the ground as well as to identify possible coaching opportunities or opportunities for staff recognition.
- The accountability for the management and development of your staff to expected skill levels for their assigned roles.
- Attending and executing new contract launches under the supervision and at the direction of Senior Leadership and the Regional Manager.
- Distributing and collecting uniforms assigned to staff within your district as needed, and maintaining accurate records of both distribution and collection whether done by you or by the Field Supervisor. You will be accountable for this process.
- Informing the Regional Manager of all performance issues and coaching opportunities for the assigned staff within your district. The Regional Manager will lead any corrective action required.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid BC Security License.
- Valid Advance Security Training (AST) is an asset.
- Previous supervisory experience is required.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and have access to a vehicle.
- Proven experience in the security industry is mandatory.
- Priori retail security experience is highly preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in the English language, including electronic communication.
- Willingness to attend meetings and training sessions to enhance skills.
- Knowledgeable about safety processes and procedures.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to set clear objectives.
- Prior management experience will be considered an asset.
- Post-secondary degree is a plus.
