Journeyman heavy Duty mechanic
We are looking for a Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our shop in Sexsmith, AB. This role is responsible for the mechanical maintenance on vehicles and equipment. A general team player attitude and willingness to help out in any and everything will guarantee success in this role.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Inspect and examines vehicle and equipment
- Service, diagnose, repair, assemble, and maintain vehicles and equipment and perform other routine maintenance work
- Keep up to date with industry standards and regulations
- Provide guidance and instruction to less experienced operators, or apprentice maintenance personnel
- Troubleshoot to determine cause and effect of mechanical failures
- Assist in shop/yard maintenance and upkeep
- Participate and assist in an active HSE culture
Experience and Skills:
- Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic certification is required; as a journeyman, it is anticipated you will have a basic set of trades tools
- Experience as an HD Journeyman in a shop environment an asset
- Heavy equipment technician or operator training is an asset
- Safe driving skills; driver’s abstract will be requested
- Physically fit – heavy lifting required
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Class 5 driver’s license
- H2S, First Aid
