Express Employment Professionals is currently seeking a skilled MIG Welder for a well-established company specializing in custom fabrication and refurbishment of waste and recycling equipment. Job Overview
The MIG Welder will be responsible for manufacturing and repairing equipment using MIG welding and torch cutting techniques. This role requires strong blueprint reading skills, accuracy in fabrication, and the ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
You will primarily work with Black Steel (Mild Carbon Steel) in various gauges (10, 12, 14) and plate thicknesses (3/16", 1/4", 3/8"), performing welds ranging from short stitch welds to long continuous beads.
Responsibilities
- Perform MIG welding and torch cutting for fabrication and repair projects
- Layout, position, and secure parts according to shop drawings and specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings accurately
- Use a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Measure and fit components with precision
- Lift and handle materials up to 50 lbs
- Work independently and collaborate with team members as needed
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 3-4 years of hands-on MIG welding experience (required)
- Valid welding certification (required)
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Experience with fitting and fabrication operations
- Proficient with hand and power tools
- Comfortable reading and using measuring tapes
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Torch cutting and forklift experience preferred but not required
