Plainsman is looking for skilled and experienced CNC Mill Operators to join our team on the night shift in Edmonton, Alberta. We are looking to add to a team that values safety, quality, efficiency, and teamwork in a production-focused manufacturing environment.
Shift: Monday to Thursday, 3:15 PM – 1:45 AM
Work Location: In person

Role Responsibilities
- Operate CNC mills in accordance with production requirements
- Manufacture parts to company specifications and quality standards
- Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
- Meet or exceed production schedules and weekly manufacturing goals
- Perform and document in-process quality checks using measuring tools and gauges
- Monitor machine performance and maintain production efficiency
- Troubleshoot machine issues and support process improvements
- Follow safe and efficient machine setup and tooling procedures
- Adhere to Plainsman quality standards and operating procedures
- Be part of a work environment that promotes safety, teamwork, quality, and continuous improvement
- Make recommendations to supervisors to improve productivity, safety, and quality
- Follow all safety programs and procedures with due care and attention for yourself and your coworkers
- Maintain accurate production records and support efficiency tracking
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including cleaning and deburring parts and disposing of waste appropriately
- Use hand and power tools as required
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
- Perform other duties as assigned
Role Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of CNC machining or CNC operating experience
- Experience operating CNC mills
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Strong understanding of measuring tools and quality inspection processes
- Ability to read and follow work instructions, production documentation, and technical drawings
- Knowledge of the imperial measurement system
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to communicate, read, and write in English
- Steel toe safety boots required
- Safety glasses required
- First Aid certification is considered an asset
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
