Mission of Position
To provide high-quality, precision-driven print production for signage that exceeds customer expectations. By effectively operating and maintaining printing equipment, managing materials, and collaborating with team members, the Print Technician ensures timely delivery of exceptional prints, contributing to the overall success of the company's projects and fostering customer satisfaction.
Key Criteria/Requirement
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Should be aware of safety guidelines and adhere to safety protocols, including how to handle chemicals (e.g., solvents, inks), operate printing equipment safely, and ensure that the workspace is clean and free from hazards
- Weekend and evenings may be required
(must be able to work overtime when and if required)
Knowledge or experience in the following are considered strong assets to the position:
- Proficiency in operating wide-format printers such as UV, eco-solvent, or inkjet printers
- Familiarity with various printing methods used in sign production, such as direct-to-substrate printing, vinyl printing, screen printing, and digital printing
- The ability to work with color profiles, calibrate printers, and ensure accurate color reproduction
- Familiarity with different substrates used for signage, such as vinyl, fabric, acrylic, corrugated plastic, foam boards, and metal
- Previous experience working with commercial printers, particularly in the sign industry, is highly desirable
Key Responsibilities
- Load and configure printers for specific print jobs
- Oversee the printing process to ensure high-quality results, including checking color accuracy and resolution
- Ensure the correct media is being used and monitor inventory levels of substrates, inks, and other printing materials
- Diagnose and resolve any issues with the printing process, such as misprints, color mismatches, or equipment malfunctions
- Regularly perform maintenance tasks like cleaning print heads, replacing ink cartridges or print media, and performing calibrations to maintain print quality
- Inspect printed materials for defects, such as color inconsistencies, bleeding
- Ensure that prints meet company and customer quality standards before they are cut or assembled
- Work closely with production staff to ensure that the output meets customer expectations and is completed on schedule
- Weeding, masking, laminating, plotting a variety of print media
- Applying vinyl to a variety of substrates and application surfaces
- Assisting other members of the production team with a variety of signage manufacturing related tasks
Position is based on a 40-hour (Monday to Friday) work week broken down according to the following schedule:
- Monday to Thursday: 7:00am to 4:30pm
- Friday: 7:00am to 11:00 am
(Occasional overtime may be required)

We understand the importance of work-life balance. Our company implements week-long scheduled shutdowns in March, August, and during the Christmas period to provide additional downtime for employees to recharge and enjoy quality time with loved ones.
