We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled professional seamstress/tailor to join our luxury women's fashion boutique. This role is ideal for an individual who takes pride in exceptional craftsmanship, attention to detail, and delivering a superior client experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a wide range of alterations and repairs on luxury designer garments while maintaining the highest standards of quality and precision.
Duties:
- Perform expert alterations and repairs on various types of garments
- Work confidently with a wide variety of fabrics and garment constructions including formal and eveningwear, special occasions garments, silk, chiffon, lace, velvet and delicate fabrics. Leather and suede, denim, wool, cashmere and other structured fabrics
- Complete fittings with clients, take measurements and mark garments for alterations
- Sew, hem, and stitch garments to meet customer specifications
- Replace zippers, buttons, and other fasteners as needed
- Ensure the quality and accuracy of all alterations
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer concerns and ensuring their satisfaction
Skills:
- Strong sewing skills and knowledge of garment construction
- Ability to use sewing machines, sergers, and other alteration tools
- Attention to detail and ability to work with precision
- Basic math skills for measuring and calculating garment adjustments
- Excellent customer service skills to interact with clients and address their needs
