Position Overview We are seeking a Red Seal Electrician to join our dynamic team. This role combines skilled electrical work with mentorship and supervision of two apprentices under the Newfoundland and Labrador Apprenticeship Program.
The successful candidate will play a key role in fostering a supportive learning environment while ensuring high quality craftsmanship on residential and commercial renovation projects.

Responsibilities:
Perform electrical installations, upgrades, and repairs in renovation and maintenance settings
▪ Inspect, test, and maintain electrical systems, equipment, and components
▪ Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and building codes
▪ Diagnose electrical issues and implement effective, code-compliant solutions
▪ Ensure all work complies with the Canadian Electrical Code and provincial regulations
▪ Communicate professionally with clients, contractors, and internal teams
▪ Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
▪ Complete service documentation and reports as required
▪ Assist with project quotes/estimates
▪ Assist with reviewing project drawings/plans and calculating the quantities of materials required to complete the job
▪ Assist with organizing/scheduling materials delivery to site Supervision & Mentorship
▪ Provide daily on-site supervision, training and mentorship for 1st and 2nd year apprentices.
▪ Monitor and document apprentices’ progress in accordance with the Apprenticeship and Trades Certification Division (ATCD) guidelines.
▪ Ensure apprentices are exposed to the full scope of required work experiences and competencies.
▪ Support apprentices in preparing for block/level training and certification exams.
▪ Provide safety training and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations. Safety, Compliance, and Documentation
▪ Enforce site safety protocols and ensure compliance with Newfoundland OHS, CSA codes, and national standards
▪ Ensure proper PPE and safety training for all team members; conduct regular safety inspections and corrective actions
▪ Ensure all work meets safety standards, building codes, and company quality expectations.
▪ Keep accurate records of permits, inspections, contracts, change orders, and progress reports; submit timely updates to stakeholders
Qualifications:
▪ Red Seal Electrical certification (required)
▪ Minimum 5 years of experience in renovation and/or maintenance electrical work
▪ Strong knowledge of construction processes, safety standards, building codes and compliance requirements
▪ Excellent communication and leadership skills, experience mentoring and training new apprentices
▪ Valid Newfoundland and Labrador Class 5 driver’s license
▪ Ability to work independently and collaboratively in diverse teams
▪ Familiarity with the Newfoundland and Labrador Apprenticeship system
▪ Commitment to safety, quality, and respect in the workplace
▪ Ability to work in varying weather conditions
▪ Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada
▪ The ability to be bonded is required
▪ Hold a Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
