Summary
We are seeking a Community Support Worker to join our team in. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing support and supervision to children and families, helping us foster positive change and strengthen community bonds.
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate support and supervision to children, youth, and families in various programs.
- Collaborate with families and other stakeholders to develop tailored support plans.
- Assist in implementing program activities that promote family preservation and individual well-being.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions and progress.
- Ensure cultural sensitivity and respect for individual beliefs within all services.
- Support team members in crisis intervention and conflict resolution.
- Promote a safe and nurturing environment for all clients.
- Participate in ongoing training to enhance service delivery.
- Qualifications
- Proven supervising experience in a social services or community support setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Knowledge of family dynamics and child development.
- Compassionate attitude with a commitment to community service.
- Ability to handle challenging situations with professionalism.
- A Valid driver’s license is required.
- Strong english is mandatory.

Pay: CA$19.00 - CA$21.00 per hour
Job description:
In your role, you will:
- Connect with and develop helping relationships with individuals with disabilities.
- Act as a strong advocate for individuals in the community.
- Work effectively with the individual and their support team to help achieve their goals.
- Completion of daily documentation.
- Support and participate in recreation and leisure activities.
- Perform administrative and cleaning duties relating to the operation of the home.
- Some Training (*Available from Family Connections Inc. at no cost to the employee)
- Security Clearance Check, including the Vulnerable Sector Search (within the last 6 months)
- Children's Services Intervention Record Check (within the last 6 months)
- Standard First Aid with CPR
- * Suicide Awareness or Suicide Intervention training
- * Cultural Awareness training
- * Medication administration training
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license, as well as a driver’s abstract (within the last 6 months)
- Auto Insurance, including $2 million third-party liability coverage
- Strong English skills are required
Required experience:
- Directly supporting individuals with disabilities
- Strong behaviour management skills.
- Experience with Non-violent Crisis Intervention would be an asset.
- Experience working in a residential setting is an asset
Pay: From $19.00 per hour
