Futuristic Transport Ltd. is seeking professional and safety-focused Owner Operator to join our team, hauling freight across Canadian provinces and U.S. states. This opportunity is ideal for independent contractors who are safety-focused, professional, and experienced in long-haul and cross-border transportation.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of freight throughout Canada and United States while maintaining compliance with applicable transportation regulations and company policies. This opportunity is ideal for experienced and entry-level Owner Operators looking for consistent miles, competitive compensation, and strong dispatch support.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate tractor-trailer equipment for Canada-USA cross-border freight.
- Ensure safe loading, transportation, and delivery of goods and services.
- Conduct daily pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections.
- Accurately maintain logbook/ELD records.
- Ensure proper cargo securement and handling procedures.
- Submit all required documentations (BOLs, delivery receipts, inspection reports).
- Maintain equipment in safe and roadworthy condition.
- Adhere to company safety policies and industry regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery updates.
- Maintain compliance with all Canadian and U.S. transportation regulations, including Hours of Service, border procedures and safe driving practices in varied weather and traffic conditions.
Qualifications
Essential:
- Valid Class 1 Commercial Driver’s License.
- Clean Driving Abstract and professional safety record.
- Valid Passport and eligibility to work in Canada-USA cross-border operations.
- Clean Criminal Record Check.
- Ability to pass pre-employment screening and compliance checks.
- Strong commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Desired:
- Valid U.S. Visa or ability to obtain one (we assist in getting one).
- Previous long-haul driving experience.
- Knowledge of FMCSA and Canadian transport regulations.
- Experience operating refrigerated (reefer) equipment.
- Knowledge of electronic logging devices (ELDs) and transportation technology.
- Strong customer service skills.
Equipment Requirements:
- Own well-maintained tractor unit (roadworthy and compliant).
- Ability to pass safety inspections and compliance audits.
- Truck must be suitable for ELD device installation and functioning.
Working Conditions
- Frequent travel throughout Canada and the United States.
- Extended period of driving and sitting.
- Compliance with Hours-of-Service regulations.
- Work performed primarily on the road and at customer locations.
