KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Perform routine inspections of buildings to identify and address maintenance needs, including plumbing, electrical and structural issues
· Inspect, clean and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems to ensure optimal performance
· Change filters and troubleshoot issues to maintain a comfortable indoor climate
· Address plumbing problems, such as leaks, clogs and faulty fixtures
· Conduct basic electrical repairs, including replacing outlets, switches and light fixtures
· Perform preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment to minimize downtime and extend their lifespan
· Conduct safety inspections of facilities to identify and address potential hazards
· Paint and finish surfaces to maintain a fresh and clean appearance including repairing and patching walls, ceilings and other surfaces as needed
· Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests, addressing issues such as leaks, power outages or damage
· Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs and inspections
· Complete all tasks in a timely manner within a multifunctional team environment
· Request tools and parts if required
· Collaborate with your team to provide an experience that supports the hotel’s overall goals
· Observe and follow the established Emergency, Fire and Health & Safety policies
ARE YOU QUALiFIED?
· You have 2-3 years experience in an Engineering Department of a large full service hotel
· You hold a 4th Class Power Engineers Certificate
· You have proven experience in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting/drywall repairs
· You have strong troubleshooting skills, able to read blueprints and manuals
· You have strong knowledge of WHIMIS, PPE and safe work practices
· You are aware of environmentally sound practices
· You are in good physical condition, the position is physically demanding
· You have excellent interpersonal, communication and guest service skills
· You are highly organized with a strong attention to detail
· You are available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
