About the Role
We are searching for a dependable, friendly, and detail-oriented Daytime Custodian to join our Facilities team. This is a daytime position (Mondays to Fridays,10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.) designed to keep our school clean, safe, and welcoming. During school hours, the position provides custodial, housekeeping, event and operational support throughout the school. Following dismissal, the position transitions to regular assigned cleaning duties as part of the custodial team.

Primary Duties
- Housekeeping duties, including:
- Cleaning, tidying and restocking washrooms throughout the school day.
- Cleaning up spills promptly.
- Mopping and vacuuming hallways and stairwells during high-traffic times (e.g., after recess, wet or muddy days).
- Event support and setup, including:
- Moving and arranging tables, chairs, and equipment.
- Preparing rooms before and after events.
- Custodial duties during the day, such as:
- Cleaning entrance and hallway glass.
- Dusting surfaces in common areas.
- Wiping high-touch points (door handles, railings, switches).
- Spot cleaning walls and doors.
- Emptying trash and recycling as needed in common areas.
- Complete assigned routine cleaning duties following student dismissal.
- Support other members of the Facilities team as needed.
- Live the Sacred Heart Goals and Criteria and be comfortable working in a Catholic, faith-based community.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous custodial or housekeeping experience.
- Ability to work carefully around students and staff with minimal disruption.
- Reliability, strong attention to detail, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to lift and move tables, chairs, and equipment.
- Ability to take initiative and work independently while also valuing collaboration and teamwork.
