Square One Paving Ltd. is hiring a reliable and hard working Construction Labourer to join our installation crew.
We specialize in decorative pavement systems installed over asphalt and concrete, including stamped asphalt, protective coatings and thermoplastic pavement markings. We do not perform traditional paving.
This is a physically demanding, hands-on outdoor construction role. It is best suited to someone who takes pride in working hard, follows instructions carefully and wants to learn a specialized construction trade.
What the work involves
You will assist the crew with:
- Preparing and cleaning asphalt and concrete surfaces
- Loading, unloading and carrying materials and equipment
- Setting up and organizing job sites
- Installing decorative pavement coatings and systems
- Measuring, masking and completing detailed surface work
- Operating tools and equipment after training
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organized work area
- Travelling to different project locations as required
- Supporting the crew with other construction-related duties
The work is outdoors and may involve lifting, bending, repetitive tasks and standing for extended periods.
Some projects require early starts, longer workdays or travel to job sites throughout British Columbia. Overnight travel may occasionally be required depending on the project. Scheduling may also vary based on project and weather conditions.

- Works well as part of a small crew
- Takes pride in completing work properly
- Is willing to learn specialized installation methods
- Can adapt to changing job locations and project schedules
- Is willing and able to travel within British Columbia when required
- Understands that attendance is important when working on a small crew
Previous construction experience is an asset, but experience with our products is not required. Training will be provided.
Experience in construction, landscaping, concrete, roofing, painting, coatings, restoration, roadwork, manufacturing, warehouse work or another physically demanding environment may be considered an asset.
Requirements
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and reliable access to a vehicle are required, as project locations and start times vary
- Ability to lift and carry construction materials and equipment
- Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions
- Availability for early starts and occasional longer days
- Willingness and ability to travel throughout British Columbia as required
- Availability for occasional overnight travel
- Legal authorization to work in Canada
- Appropriate work clothing and safety footwear
