CNC Router Operator (Millwork & Cabinets) – Afternoon Shift
Role Overview
We are an established custom fabrication company specializing in the millwork and cabinet industry. We are looking for a skilled, detail-oriented CNC Router Operator to join our production team. In this role, your primary focus will be setting up, programming, and operating CNC routers to transform raw wood materials into precise, high-quality cabinet and millwork components.
You will play a vital role in our manufacturing process, ensuring our wood fabrication and assembly teams receive perfectly machined parts. If you have strong hands-on experience troubleshooting and running CNC routers, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities
CNC Router Operation & Setup
- Configure and operate CNC routers to maximize daily production efficiency, part quality, and material yield.
- Perform precise setup and tooling adjustments on CNC routers based on specific project requirements, including replacing and calibrating router bits, drill bits, saw blades, and aggregates.
- Monitor tool wear specifically related to CNC router tooling, maintain tool inventory, and report any machinery malfunctions to the shop foreman immediately.
- Safely operate a forklift to transport sheet goods and raw wood materials to and from the CNC router station.
Programming Support & Data Management
- Review, interpret, and provide constructive feedback on CNC router programming files to mitigate manufacturing risks before running materials.
- Assist in creating and updating assigned CNC router programs to optimize machine operator workflow.
- Maintain organized digital folders for router files and distribute program sheets for foreman review.
Workflow & Workplace Maintenance
- Organize and sort components processed by the CNC router, ensuring parts are clean, labeled, and ready for the cabinet makers and wood fabrication teams.
- Monitor inventory levels of raw sheet goods and communicate stock requirements to the shop foreman.
- Maintain an immaculate workspace around the machinery by emptying off-cut bins, performing end-of-shift cleanups, and inspecting dust collection systems daily.
Team Collaboration & Safety
- Participate actively in weekly production meetings to map out upcoming projects, timelines, and material requirements.
- Coordinate transparently with cross-functional departments—including assembly, detailing, and project management—regarding design revisions or schedule changes.
- Adhere strictly to all occupational health and safety guidelines, completing required training and promoting safe workplace practices.
Qualifications
- Industry Experience: 1–3 years of hands-on experience operating machinery within the millwork, cabinetry, or architectural woodworking industry.
- CNC Router Expertise: Mandatory experience setting up and operating CNC routers (including tool changes, calibration, and basic machine troubleshooting).
- Technical Skills: Proven ability to read technical drawings, interpret CNC router programs, and utilize basic measurement tools like calipers and tape measures.
- Computer Skills: Comfortable navigating digital systems for file management, production documentation, and basic programming adjustments.
- Certifications: Valid forklift operation certificate is a strong asset.
- Attributes: High attention to detail, a proactive mindset toward material optimization, and strong verbal communication skills.
Pay: $20.00-$21.00 per hour
