Job Overview
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with at least 7 years of software development experience and strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and Angular.
This is a hands-on role involving application development, production support, and technical guidance for a small team. The person in this role will be expected to take ownership of issues, coordinate with developers and stakeholders, and help improve the stability and maintainability of the system.
Candidates should be comfortable working from 9am-5pm MST.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain applications using Java and Spring Boot
- Investigate and resolve production issues
- Identify root causes and help prevent recurring problems
- Review code and technical approaches
- Guide developers and help unblock work
- Coordinate with client stakeholders and other teams
- Improve application reliability, monitoring, testing, and documentation
- Participate in planning, estimation, and delivery activities
Requirements
- 7 or more years of professional software development experience
- Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot
- Experience developing and maintaining Angular applications
- Experience with microservices and REST APIs
- Experience with SQL databases
- Experience supporting production applications
- Ability to troubleshoot application, integration, and database issues
- Experience reviewing code and guiding other developers
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to take ownership of work and follow issues through to completion
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a senior engineer, technical lead, or team lead
- Experience with AWS or another cloud platform
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools
- Experience in consulting, professional services, or client delivery environments
