Job Overview
We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Construction Labourer to join our team. This role involves supporting various construction projects by assisting skilled tradespeople and performing general labour tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work safely in a dynamic environment. Prior construction experience and familiarity with hand tools are highly valued, but training will be provided for specific skills such as blueprint reading, schematics, and specialized trades. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop a broad skill set within the construction industry.
You MUST have your own transportation to work, as you may work at various/different sites every week.
Duties
- Assist with the use of hand tools and power tools for various construction tasks
- Support carpentry, framing, and restoration projects as directed by supervisors
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and drawings to aid in project execution
- Perform tasks such as caulking, drywall installation, flooring installation, tile laying, and painting
- Support plumbing and welding activities when required
- Help with demolition, site cleanup, material handling, and equipment setup
- Follow safety protocols to maintain a secure work environment at all times
- Assist with the installation of flooring, tiles, or other finishing elements as needed
- Support team members in executing detailed tasks like blueprint interpretation or schematic following
Experience
- Prior experience in construction or related trades is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for specific skills
- Familiarity with hand tools and basic construction techniques is advantageous
- Experience with carpentry, drywall installation, plumbing, welding, or flooring installation is a plus
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics is beneficial but can be learned on the job
- Strong physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials safely (up to 50 pounds)
- Willingness to learn new skills such as caulking, tile laying, or restoration work
- Demonstrated commitment to safety standards and teamwork in previous roles
