Bronte Pet Services has been in business over 15 years in Vancouver. We have a consistent roster of clients, a sustainable business model, and a great team - some of our staff have been with us for a decade!
We are looking to add to our team. For now this is a part-time position, with the potential to transition to a full-time or management position in the Fall/Winter.
We provide private (one-on-one) dog walks on weekdays, as well as cat care and overnight pet sitting. We are currently hiring for a dog walker.
Our ideal candidate is a responsible, active individual who would like to spend part of their day outdoors with four-legged friends. Our client base is varied (large breeds, small breeds, puppies, seniors, reactive/ special needs dogs). The candidate would need to be familiar with positive reinforcement training and have an interest in continued learning about dog behaviour.
Most dog walks are Monday - Friday, with peak hours between 10am - 2pm. We are looking for someone who is available at least three days a week during this timeframe. There is also the option for this job to become full-time in the coming months.
Requirements:
--Comfortable handling dogs of all sizes and breeds.
--Comfortable managing behaviour issues such as pulling on leash, leash reactivity, and prey drive/reactivity to other animals. Extensive training is provided.
--High degree of professionalism and able to follow guidelines on care.
--Able to travel around our service area quickly and efficiently. A car is an asset, but bike, e-bike, or scooter commuting can work. Transit is not a viable option due to the need to get between client locations quickly.
- Looking for a longer term, flexible opportunity.
We are fully insured and pride ourselves on our high standard of care. We are licensed, insured, and provide WorkSafe coverage and liability insurance coverage.
Walkers will be asked to provide references, pass a Criminal Record Check, undergo paid training, and obtain Canine First Aid certification if they do not already have it.
