Don't miss this chance to join our Highways team! We are presently seeking an experienced, strongly knowledgeable with effective communication skills Foreperson. This position requires the candidate to work at times in remote locations. You must be able to travel and be away from home for extended periods of time. Work will be primarily in Saskatchewan.
What is the role?
Reporting to the Superintendent, the Base Foreperson will be responsible for managing the work crew, operators, and equipment.
- Leads and manages the base crew operations ensuring that crews are trained and understand all aspects of Carmacks Quality Control Program;
- Works to maintain and improve all working relationships within the organization as well as with contract owners, engineers, associated clients and suppliers;
- Co-ordinates equipment requirements, materials, supplies and subcontractors with the General Superintendent;
- Calculates trucks required to ensure road productivity goals;
- Liaises with the General Superintendent and field superintendent to ensure that appropriate materials and aggregates are available to ensure excellent quality product in a timely manner;
- Assists in the development and implements well defined work plans using manpower, equipment and materials most efficiently;
- Ensures that all aspects of Carmacks Quality Control Program are understood and maintained on every project;
- Ensures that all health and safety standards meet legislated requirements.
What do we value?
- Minimum 5 years of road construction experience required
- 3 to 5 years supervisory experience, preferably as a Base Foreperson
- Sub Grade Prep, Sub-Base, Surface Mixing & Granular Base experience required
- Minimum Class 5 Driver’s License
- Successful candidates must be able to meet pre-employment testing requirements.
- Able to work rotational shift 24 days on and 4 days off (We primarily work around long weekends).
