Apprentice Carpenter
Location: Ottawa, Ontario
Job Type: Full-Time
Build a Career, Not Just a Job
We’re looking for someone who’s hungry to learn, willing to work hard, and wants to build a long-term career in carpentry. No experience? That’s okay. We don’t expect you to know everything—we expect you to show up on time, work hard, ask questions, and earn your place.
At our company, everyone starts at the bottom. You’ll begin by learning the fundamentals, supporting the crew, and mastering the basics before moving on to more advanced carpentry. The people who work the hardest, take initiative, and show pride in their work will have unlimited opportunities to grow.
This isn’t just another labour job—it’s a chance to build a trade and a career.
What You’ll Do
Assist experienced carpenters with residential construction and renovation projects.
Load, unload, and organize building materials and tools.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site.
Learn proper use of hand and power tools.
Assist with framing, roofing, siding, decks, interior finishing, and general carpentry.
Follow instructions while developing your skills and confidence.
Take pride in producing quality work every day.
What We’re Looking For
Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Reliable and punctual—you show up ready to work.
Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
Willingness to learn from experienced tradespeople.
Ability to work well with a team.
Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation is an asset.
Previous construction experience is helpful but not required.
Growth Opportunities
We believe promotions are earned through effort, not seniority.
If you consistently:
Show up early and prepared.
Work hard without being asked.
Take initiative and solve problems.
Respect your teammates and clients.
Demonstrate a commitment to learning.
You’ll have opportunities to:
Learn every aspect of residential carpentry.
Receive mentorship from experienced carpenters.
Register as a carpenter apprentice.
Advance into leadership positions, including Lead Carpenter and Site Supervisor.
Increase your wage based on performance and skill—not simply time served.
What We Offer
Competitive starting wage based on experience.
Consistent full-time work.
Hands-on training and mentorship.
Opportunity to build a rewarding career in the skilled trades.
Support toward apprenticeship registration and long-term career development.
A team that values hard work, accountability, and craftsmanship.
Our Culture
We’re not looking for someone who just wants a paycheck—we’re looking for someone who wants a future. We take pride in our craftsmanship, our reputation, and the people we hire. If you’re willing to put in the effort, we’ll invest in teaching you the trade and creating opportunities for you to succeed. Apprentices in Ontario typically develop their skills through a combination of on-the-job training and formal apprenticeship, with advancement tied to increasing responsibility and competency.
