We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety, efficiency, and customer service. This position involves transporting goods across various routes while ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining the integrity of the freight. A successful Truck Driver will possess excellent driving skills, knowledge of vehicle maintenance, and the ability to handle heavy equipment.
Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks safely and efficiently to transport freight to designated locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of freight.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while operating the vehicle.
- Perform basic automotive repairs as needed to keep the vehicle in optimal condition.
- Operate forklifts and other heavy equipment when necessary for loading or unloading freight.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Experience in commercial driving is preferred; familiarity with freight handling is a plus.
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation is advantageous.
- Basic automotive repair skills are desirable for maintaining vehicle performance.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety practices.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Must be able to lift heavy loads (up to 50 pounds) as required during loading and unloading processes.
Pay: From $27.00 per hour
