Topaz Transport Inc. is seeking an experienced Truck Mechanic to join our team in Truro. You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining our fleet of company trucks. This is a hands-on position that requires strong technical skills and the ability to work with heavy-duty vehicles and equipment.
Duties
- Perform inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on heavy-duty trucks and trailers
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, brakes, transmissions, suspensions, and electrical systems
- Carry out routine services including oil changes, filter replacements, and tire work
- Identify safety issues and address them promptly
- Use diagnostic software and tools to troubleshoot problems accurately
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance
- Perform preventative maintenance to maximize fleet uptime
- Test drive vehicles after repairs to confirm functionality and safety
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Truck/Heavy-Duty Mechanic (fleet experience is an asset)
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines and truck systems
- Ability to use diagnostic equipment and repair tools
- Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and initiative
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physical ability to handle heavy components and outdoor working conditions
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $25.00-$40.00 per hour
