Role and Responsibilities
To assist the shipyard service operations, ensuring safety compliance, coordinating welding projects, and maintaining high quality production standards. The goal is a high quality product under efficient timelines.
- Supervise and coordinate projects of welders and fabricators
- Inspect completed projects for accuracy and specifications
- Train and mentor new and existing welding staff
- Adhere to safety and quality standards
- Plan and assign welding projects based on production requirements
- Maintain equipment and arrange repairs when necessary
- Collaborate with the shipyard yard staff, marine technicians, and operations
- Ensure compliance with welding codes and safety regulations
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Minimum high school diploma
Valid CWB Welding Certificate required
All positions - FCAW/MCW & SMAW
2+ years of welding experience
Preferred Skills
Efficient time management
Ability to perform under pressure
Ability to adhere to deadlines and time constraints
Knowledge of marine service and operations
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
