The Assistant Coach, Strength & Conditioning reports to the Director, Sport and works collaboratively with varsity coaches, athletic therapists, sport medicine professionals, and Sports & Recreation staff to deliver high-quality, evidence-informed strength and conditioning services that support the health, well-being, and competitive success of Western's varsity student-athletes.
The role is responsible to support the design, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive strength and conditioning programs that enhance athletic performance, reduce the risk of injury, and promote long-term athlete development across multiple varsity sport programs. The Assistant Coach contributes to an integrated high-performance sport environment by providing individualized athlete support, monitoring performance, assisting with return-to-play programming, educating student-athletes on safe and effective training practices, and ensuring the safe operation of strength and conditioning facilities. Through collaboration, innovation, and evidence-based practice, the role supports Western's commitment to delivering an exceptional student-athlete experience and fostering excellence in varsity athletics.
