About Mindora Learning
Mindora Learning provides engaging after-school enrichment programs for children in Grades K–7 across Burnaby schools. Our programs focus on STEAM, robotics, science, arts, music, sport, and personal development — always delivered in an inclusive, child-centred environment.
About the Role
As a Soccer Instructor, you will deliver skill-progressive, joyful, and inclusive soccer sessions for children ages 5–12 (Grades K–7). No experience is required from participants — every child plays every session and no child ever sits on the bench. Sessions follow a progressive curriculum differentiated by age group: K–2 build fundamental movement skills through soccer-based play; Gr 3–7 develop real technique, spatial awareness, and small-sided game understanding. Sportsmanship is taught explicitly every session — not assumed.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver progressive soccer skill sessions for a mixed-age K–7 group, differentiated by developmental level.
- Deliver K–2 sessions through fundamental movement and soccer-based games; deliver Gr 3–7 sessions with real technique development and small-sided game application.
- Structure every session across four blocks: dynamic warm-up, focused skill practice (dribbling, passing, shooting, defending, game awareness), small-sided play, and cool-down reflection.
- Teach one or two specific skills per session through progressive, age-appropriate drills and small-group challenges — differentiated by developmental level, not ability ranking.
- Facilitate modified small-sided games (non-competitive) in which every child is involved, every child has the ball, and every child contributes.
- Teach sportsmanship vocabulary and social awareness explicitly in every session — through the cool-down reflection and throughout game play.
- Ensure no child ever sits on the bench — full participation every session is a non-negotiable program standard.
- Celebrate effort consistently — never outcome — in shooting, dribbling, defending, and all other skill areas.
- Set up and maintain soccer equipment, including any size-appropriate balls and cones.
- Communicate regularly with the Program Coordinator regarding student progress, skill development, and program outcomes.
- Follow all Burnaby School District policies, safety procedures, and child-safeguarding requirements.

- Understanding of and commitment to a non-competitive, skills-first, cooperation-over-competition model of youth sport.
