About the role: This is a diverse electrical role for a Fourth Year Apprentice or entry level Red Seal Electrician. The role is made up of in-town work, and out of town remote site work. A typical day in the field includes traveling to site in company vehicles and working on an installation team of 3-6 crew. Apprentices work under the guidance of certified Red Seal Electricians with decades of diverse industry experience.
Competencies:
Ability to carry heavy solar panels and other items up to 60lbs throughout the day
Comfortable working on roofs (various slopes), or just a love of heights! - previous roofing experience is considered a strong asset
Comfortable on ladders
Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions, year-round
Ability to work out of town around Vancouver Island and BC coast (work shifts range from 2 - 20 days, LOA provided)
4+ year on-site experience in electrical-related job, including experience leading small crews and projects
Reliable transportation to and from work within Victoria
A valid drivers license, with experience driving trucks & vans
Owns their own tools and PPE (power tools/major equipment provided)
Ability to read and interpret the Canadian Electrical Code, with working knowledge of electrical principles, conduit, circuitry, power, and distribution

Duties include but are not limited to:
Mobilizing work vehicles, equipment, and job-related materials
Installing racking systems, solar modules, and other components according to array layout drawings
Connect wiring in electrical circuits and networks ensuring compatibility of components
Install safety and distribution components
Utilizing fall protection systems and fall arrest equipment, setting and removing temporary roof anchors
Operating GEDA Ladder lift and elevated work platforms
Lifting, moving, and handling materials
Promote safe working conditions participate in the Hakai Energy H&S program, and adhere to occupational health and safety regulations
Keep accurate records of material used and proper documentation on work orders relating to the installation
Maintain organization and leadership with efficiency and accuracy
Be open to learning and developing new skills
