Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Reports To: Manager or Supervisor
Schedule: Monday - Friday
Contract Length: 8 Weeks
Overview: Maintenance Technicians report to the Maintenance Supervisor and are critical to the delivery
of world class customer service in our buildings that depict pride of ownership and respect for our residents.
This position needs to be a dedicated professional, ensuring our properties are safe, functional, and
welcoming homes for all residents.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety requirements and maintain
a safe working environment.
- General Maintenance & Repairs: Perform a variety of building maintenance tasks, including:
o Drywall repairs, preparation, and painting.
o Minor electrical and plumbing repairs.
o Plumbing Tasks: Plunging toilets, bathtubs, and sinks; replacing faucet cartridges; bleeding
air in radiators; restarting boilers; and replacing tank levers.
o Renovations: Suite renovations, minor upgrades and minor renovation of kitchen cabinets,
doors, cupboards, and windows.
o Lock Repairs: Repairing, replacing, and conducting minor electrical repairs on locks and
security systems.
o Appliance Maintenance: Repair and maintenance of stoves and refrigerators.
- Work Order Management: Respond to, troubleshoot, prioritize work orders, and handle
emergency situations in a timely manner.
- Preventative Maintenance: Assist in the implementation of preventative maintenance programs
and conduct routine building inspections.
o Move equipment, materials, and supplies as needed.
o Maintain tools and equipment inventory.
o Perform seasonal duties, such as the removal of snow off walkways and common areas.
- Resident Relations: Deliver and post notices to residents, provide resident services and
assistance as required, and maintain good resident relations.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of experience in building maintenance.
- Technical Knowledge: Good working knowledge of electrical systems, carpentry, and plumbing.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Availability: Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical Demands: Physical exertion, including lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs., work with and
climb stairs with equipment.
- Compliance: Ability to obtain and maintain a clear criminal record check.
- License: Possession of a valid driver’s license, and able to provide an annual driver’s abstract.
