Job Summary
Reporting to the Health & Safety Supervisor, the Health & Safety Coordinator will be responsible for the coordination of staff to meet the Company’s Health and Safety protocols as well as Ontario Health and Safety standards and requirements of training.
Key Responsibilities:
· Promote safety awareness through communication and specific training programs.
· Identify safety training needs and coordinate safety training programs.
· Assist in conducting risk analysis, hazard analysis, and physical demand analysis and monitor safety goals.
· Participate in new product/process review including process hazard analysis.
· Assist in the selection of appropriate personal protective equipment.
· Actively participate in JHSC and organize monthly JHSC meetings.
· Review incident reports and follow-up as necessary.
· Conduct training to new employees on Nutem processes, procedures, and safety standards.
· Assist in developing policies, programs, standards, safe work practices, and updating manuals, and training materials.
· Create/conduct inspection schedules and maintain corrective item schedule.
· Assist in representing the company in matters of health and safety with the MOL, WSIB, health and safety associations, and other outside agencies and organizations.
· Track all corrective and preventive actions and ensure that they are completed promptly.
· Research occupational safety information on a regular basis and the best practices are implemented to minimize the hazards in the workplace.
· Perform additional assignments and other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
· Minimum 2 years of experience as Health & Safety personnel.
· Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Degree in a related field or equivalent related professional experience and training.
· Understanding of the Health and Safety Policies and regulations across Canada
· Ability to work in a team environment and individually.
· Must be a highly motivated and team-oriented individual with an attention to detail.
· Excellent time management skills and organizational skills.
· Familiar with 5S, GMP, WHMIS, OHSA, and other standards and requirements in Canada.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
