We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Full-time / Part-Time Pharmacy Assistant to join our growing team.
Key ResponsibilitiesDispensing & Workflow Support
- Assist pharmacists in preparing, counting, packaging, and labelling prescriptions.
- Process refill requests, transfers, and ensure accurate data entry into the pharmacy system.
- Maintain and organize dispensary inventory, shelves, and supplies.
- Assist with blister packaging and compliance packaging as required.
Customer Service
- Greet patients and provide friendly, professional assistance.
- Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage patient inquiries.
- Support patients with OTC product selection under pharmacist supervision.
Administrative Duties
- Process third-party billing, troubleshoot rejections, and ensure accurate claim submissions.
- Maintain accurate records and follow pharmacy policies and procedures.
- Assist in daily closing/opening checklists and general housekeeping.
Support for Clinical Services
- Help coordinate immunizations, medication reviews, and follow-up appointments.
- Assist pharmacists in preparing documentation for clinical services.
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum 1 year experience as a pharmacy assistant (community pharmacy preferred).
- Strong data entry accuracy and familiarity with pharmacy software (Kroll, Nexxsys, or similar).
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and work independently.
- Positive attitude, team-oriented, and dependable.
Asset Skills (not required):
- Experience with blister packaging / PacMed / adherence packaging.
- Experience assisting with immunization workflows.
- Knowledge of Alberta pharmacy regulations.
- 12–30 hours per week (flexible).
- Evenings and weekends availability is an asset.
- Additional hours possible during busy periods.
