Position Overview:
VETS Sheet Metal is looking for a skilled and motivated Sheet Metal Journeyman to join our growing shop fabrication team. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in quality workmanship, values teamwork, and thrives in a fast-paced shop environment.
Responsibilities:
- Fabricate and assemble sheet metal components, including ductwork and custom fittings, based on shop drawings and specifications
- Operate fabrication equipment (brakes, shears, rollers, plasma tables) safely and efficiently
- Read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings to ensure accuracy
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, organized workspace
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
- Collaborate with foremen and team members to meet production targets and deadlines
Qualifications:
- Certified Sheet Metal Journeyman with shop fabrication experience.
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
- Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with fabrication equipment.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Must possess or be willing to obtain required safety certifications (CSTS, WHMIS, Fall Protection, etc.).
- Willingness to learn and grow within a collaborative service-focused team environment.
