Belwood Lodge and Camp is a non-profit, OCA accredited summer camp for children, youth and adults with special needs. This includes but is not limited to intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities. Located in Belwood, Ontario, our camp offers an amazing and unique summer camp opportunity for individuals of all ages (7 - senior). We value the safety and comfort of all our lodgers (camp participants) and know the importance of the respite the caregivers receive while their family member is in our care.

We are currently hiring for the position of Camp Nurse. The Camp Nurse is responsible for upholding the mission and values of our camp, and ensuring all of our lodgers’ and staff's medical needs are met. They are also a key player in ensuring a successful camp season.
This is a seasonal, residential (live in) position, running from ASAP - August 28th, 2026. The pay is weekly with a salary of $1200 per week. Room and board is provided by Belwood Lodge and Camp. There is also a $500 bonus for completion of the full contract.
Job Responsibilities
- Administer daily medication for campers (4 times a day)
- Provide initial first aid/emergency care for campers and staff
- Prepare and re-stock all camp first aid kits
- Maintain all health records of campers and staff (medications, injuries, dietary restrictions, preexisting conditions, etc.)
- Advise cabin counsellors on best healthcare practices of their campers
- Collaborate with Co-Nurse and Camp Director regarding any health concerns of campers
- Communicate and work closely with leadership team
- Assist with hygiene care/concerns as needed
- Daily cleaning and upkeeping of health centre
- Upon hiring, review the health related Ontario Camps Association (OCA) accreditation standards
Job requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- RPN/RN Certification is a requirement
- Good standing with CNO is a requirement
- Experience working with individuals with additional needs is an asset
- Experience working in a camp environment is an asset
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong leadership skills
- A willingness to learn
- Successful completion of a Vulnerable Sector Check is mandatory
