Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education, excellent communication skills, and a genuine love for working with young children. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate learning activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development
- Create a welcoming, safe, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to support children's needs and progress
- Maintain accurate records of student activities, progress reports, and attendance
- Utilize computer skills for record keeping, lesson planning, and communication purposes
- Manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement strategies
- Collaborate with special education staff or specialists when working with children with disabilities or special needs
- Organize classroom activities that foster creativity, independence, and social skills
- Demonstrate leadership by guiding assistant teachers or volunteers as needed
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and licensing requirements
Requirements
- Experience working with young children in an educational or childcare setting an asset
- Strong knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices
- Excellent communication skills—verbal and written—along with strong organizational abilities
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment
- Demonstrated leadership qualities and the ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Vulnerable Sector Check (may apply upon hiring)
- Registered with the Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators
- First Aid/CPR - may obtain upon hiring
- Own transportation
