Job Summary
We are a Monday - Friday (no evenings or weekends) pharmacy. We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, providing exceptional patient care, and ensuring accurate medication management. This role offers an opportunity to work in a pharmacy, supporting patient health and safety through precise medication handling and effective communication. The Pharmacy Technician/Assistant plays a vital role in maintaining efficient pharmacy operations while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in preparing, dispensing, and labeling prescriptions accurately
- Manage medication inventory, including stock replenishment and storage organization
- Provide excellent patient care by answering questions and offering medication guidance under supervision
- Enter prescription data into electronic health records with attention to detail
- Verify prescription information for accuracy and completeness
- Maintain compliance with policies, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Support medication administration processes by coordinating with healthcare providers and patients
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy workspace
Experience
- Previous pharmacy technician or assistant experience necessary
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to pharmaceuticals and patient care
- Experience with medication administration processes is a plus
- Strong understanding of pharmacy operations, inventory management, and regulatory standards
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, healthcare professionals, and team members
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
