Job Summary
We are seeking skilled and dedicated Journeyman Carpenters and Apprentices to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in various carpentry tasks and a strong understanding of construction principles. This role involves working on diverse projects, ensuring high-quality workmanship, and collaborating with other trades to achieve project goals.
Responsibilities
- Assist with Removal of Hoarding and Shipping Materials from Wood Frame Modular Buildings
- Assist with Rigging, Taglines, Craning and Placement of Wood Frame Modular Buildings
- Cut and Install Plywood Connections, Shear Nailing
- Assist with Installation of Seismic Rod Systems
- Install Simpson Hardware and Other Structural Connections
- Installation of Weather Barriers, Building Envelope, Caulking and Adhesives
- Install EPDM roofing and other Roofing Components to Buildings
- Site framing of parapet walls, canopies, decks, elevator shafts and other site framed elements
- Cutting and Installation of Stairs
- Daily clean up and disposal of materials
- Daily clean up, set up, organization and care of tools
- Participate in daily safety meetings, paperwork, FLHAs, Hazard Identification
- Actively participate in site safety
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine project specifications.
The following skills and qualifications are recommended for the Position:
- Red seal ticket or equivalent in Carpentry, Active ITA Apprentice, Experience in Construction (min 2 years)
- Proficiency in various aspects of construction, adapt to new tasks.
- Fall protection, first aid, AWP, RTFL, confined space tickets an asset.
- Experience in modular building and installation an asset.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required for this role.
