Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our finance team. The ideal candidate is a dependable professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has a keen eye for detail, and can manage day-to-day bookkeeping responsibilities across multiple entities with accuracy and efficiency.
The pay range for this position is $50,000-$60,000 per annum depending on skills and experience
Key Responsibilities:
Perform regular bank and credit card reconciliations and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
Complete balance sheet reconciliations, including accounts such as prepaids, insurance, and other assigned accounts.
Prepare and post journal entries accurately and in a timely manner.
Assist with the preparation and review of supporting documentation for financial transactions.
Support AR and AP clerks with accounting-related tasks
Assist with resolving discrepancies related to customer accounts, vendor accounts, invoices, payments, and other financial transactions.
Support the month-end close process, including the preparation of reconciliations, schedules, and supporting reports.
Assist with year-end preparation, including the preparation of supporting schedules and documentation for management and external accountants.
Maintain accurate and organized financial records and supporting documentation.
Assist with financial reporting and other accounting-related projects as required.
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and efficiencies.
Perform other bookkeeping and accounting duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
3–5 years of bookkeeping experience is required
Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and Excel is required
Solid understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and HST returns
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Self-motivated, dependable, and capable of working independently
Comfortable with numbers and basic financial reporting
