Prodigy Personnel is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Final Assembly Assembler to join their manufacturing team. This position is responsible for the final assembly, inspection, and preparation of finished automotive before they are shipped to customers. The ideal candidate takes pride in producing high-quality work, follows instructions carefully, and enjoys working with their hands.
Individuals with experience as handymen, maintenance technicians, construction workers, mechanics, equipment installers, millwright helpers, or general tradespeople often excel in this role due to their mechanical aptitude and familiarity with tools and assembly techniques.
This is a full time temporary to permanent position from Monday to Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm
Rate of pay is $25 - $30/hour depending on experience.
Responsibility Overview
- Perform final mechanical assembly of products according to drawings, work instructions, and specifications.
- Assemble mechanical components using a variety of hand and power tools.
- Read and interpret assembly drawings, work orders, and bills of materials.
- Measure and verify dimensions using an imperial tape measure and other measuring tools.
- Install hardware, brackets, fasteners, guards, and other components accurately.
- Inspect completed assemblies to ensure they meet quality standards and customer specifications.
- Identify and report defects, missing parts, or assembly issues.
- Operate overhead cranes and counterbalance forklifts safely (certification considered an asset).
- Move materials and completed assemblies throughout the production area.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards.
- Assist with packaging, testing, and preparing finished products for shipment as required.
- Work collaboratively with production, quality, and shipping teams to meet production schedules.
- Crane and forklift operation
Required
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with your hands.
- Experience using a wide variety of hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to accurately read an imperial tape measure (to 1/16" or finer).
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Physically capable of standing for extended periods and performing repetitive assembly tasks.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg) repetitively
- Must be able to work in a warehouse environment - may be loud, dusty, and dirty
